Come learn the basics of sewing with a fun and patient teacher! In our Beginning Sewing Series, each class will feature a different project, each one to designed to teach you different skills and grow your confidence as a sewist.
Curious about Kraft-tex, but not a beginning sewist? Come join us!
This super, simple-to-make pouch is a great way to experiment with Kraft-tex fabric! This sturdy pouch holds pencils and pens, makeup brushes, or tools. Once you’ve made one, you can easily make them in a variety of sizes. As always, these pouches make great gifts for just about anyone!
- 1/4 yd Kraft-tex
- 14″ zipper
- 90/14 Topstitch needles or 80/12 Microtex Sharp needles will work well.
- 40wt thread, but 50 wt will work!
General Sewing Supplies/Notions needed:
- Wonder clips are recommended. Any pin holes will stay forever!
- Sewing scissors
- Pinking shears
- Thread snips (optional)
- Sewing machine in good working order*
- Seam ripper
- Fabric marking pencil/pen or chalk marker
*A note for Beginning Sewists:
You must know how to thread your machine and wind a bobbin. Please bring the owner’s manual with you. If you need help with your machine, please contact the shop and we will arrange to meet outside class time to make sure your machine is in good working order. We want everyone in the class to have a successful sewing experience!
